VA Telehealth

The VA is using technology to update how it provides health care to veterans. Telehealth is giving veterans an alternative to driving long distances to get to their VA medical facility.

Nationwide Access

Telehealth gives veterans the opportunity to meet with their VA care team without having to drive long distances to get to their VA medical facility. The program offers the following:

  • Real-time, interactive video visits.
  • In-home and mobile health remote monitoring.
  • Technologies that transmit health data or images to VA providers.

The technology the VA uses allows the providers to collect the health data of veterans. This data guides treatment decisions and improves care for veterans. The VA can not collect this data without the consent of the veteran.

Telehealth on Veteran's Terms

Veterans who qualify to receive VA health care and live in the United States or a United States territory are eligible to connect with their VA providers through this program. Veterans should contact their VA care team to develop a care plan that works best for them.

Veterans can visit an outpatient clinic or a larger medical center and feel at ease knowing that their VA care team will have the tools and information needed to use the services.
